David Wash is a first generation entrepreneur, truly a boot straps creator of business and opportunity. He has a 30 year history in the insurance industry that began selling rudimentary personal lines products. He spent 10 years with a top 100 insurance agency and at 28 became the youngest Equity Partner in the firm’s history. David left in 1998 to form Excel Underwriters Alliance, a brokerage firm specializing in Professional and D&O lines. Excel was originally constructed within a medical stop-loss firm, affording David with insight into reinsurance and self-funding. By 2005, Excel had launched a sister company, Spirit Underwriters, an MGA underwriting E&O for Insurance Professionals and Related Disciplines.

Formation of Zodiac Insurance Services, LLC.

These businesses thrived and succeeded until they were acquired by a publicly traded entity in early 2010. After the transition, David left to form Zodiac Insurance Services, LLC. David has held authorities for four separate A rated insurers and completed tribunalization as a Cover Holder for Lloyd’s of London. He holds non-resident and surplus lines licenses in over 40 states.
